# File upload

> Let visitors attach ECU reads, photos, logs, or supporting documents to quote requests.

Use this page when you want customers to send files with quote requests.

Click the [**Quoting**](https://app.remapdb.com/widget/quoting) item in the main navigation, then open the **File upload** section.

## What file upload does

When file upload is enabled, the quote form shows a **Files** upload area near the bottom of the form.

Visitors can attach supporting files such as:

* ECU read files
* Vehicle photos
* Diagnostic logs
* Supporting documents
* Other files your team needs before preparing a quote

After the quote is submitted, uploaded files are linked in quote emails so your team can download them.

<Info>
  File upload is available on the **Pro** and **MAX** plans.
</Info>

## What visitors see

When the setting is active, visitors see a **Files** field in the quote form.

They can:

* Drag files into the upload area.
* Click **browse** to select files from their device.
* Remove a selected file before submitting the quote.

The quote submit button can stay disabled while files are still uploading. Wait until uploads finish before submitting a test quote.

## File limits

The live upload area shows the current limit, for example:

```text theme={null}
Up to 4 file(s), 10 MB each.
```

Your exact file count can depend on the active upload configuration.
The default size limit is **10 MB per file** unless Remapdb has configured a different limit for your environment.

If a visitor selects too many files, only the allowed number is processed.
If a file is too large, the form shows a size error and the file is not attached.

## What your team receives

Uploaded files are added to quote emails as download links.

Your team receives the file links in the main quote email. If dealer routing is enabled and the visitor selects a dealer, the selected dealer can also receive the quote email with the same file links.

The quote email also includes a file security notice:

* Remapdb does not scan uploaded files for viruses.
* Scan files before opening them.
* Uploaded file links are not permanent storage. Download and store files you need for customer work in your own workflow.

<Warning>
  Only open files you trust and scan uploaded files before using them. Treat customer uploads like any other external attachment.
</Warning>

## If the setting is disabled

If **File upload** is disabled or does not save:

2. Confirm your account is on **Pro** or **MAX**.
3. Open [Billing](https://app.remapdb.com/settings/billing) and confirm your subscription is active.
