# Performance units

> Choose the default power and torque units visitors see first in your widget.

Use this setting to control how power and torque values are shown when the widget first loads.

<Info>
  The selected mode also applies to the dyno chart, visible vehicle summary, metadata, social sharing output, and structured data.
</Info>

## Where to change this

1. Click the [**Settings**](https://app.remapdb.com/widget/settings) item in the Widget section of the main navigation.
2. Open the **Performance units** section.

## Available options

| Setting                 | Power | Torque |
| ----------------------- | ----- | ------ |
| **Nm** (Newton-meters)  | hp    | Nm     |
| **ft-lb** (foot-pounds) | hp    | ft-lb  |
| **kW** (kilowatts)      | kW    | Nm     |

## What this changes in the widget

When you change this setting:

1. Power and torque values open in the selected default combination.
2. Performance labels and chart values follow the same units.
3. SEO output uses the selected units, including visible summaries and structured data.
4. Visitors can still switch units inside the widget if they prefer another format.

In short: this controls the **starting unit**, not a permanent lock.

## Step-by-step setup

1. In **Performance units**, choose **Nm**, **ft-lb**, or **kW**.
2. Save your changes.
3. Open your widget preview and check one vehicle.
4. Open a live page and confirm the same result.

## Quick testing checklist

* Widget opens with the performance units you selected.
* Power and torque labels match the selected mode.
* Power values switch between hp and kW when expected.
* SEO summary and metadata use the same unit labels and converted values.
* Manual unit switch in the widget still works.

## Good practice

* Choose the unit most of your visitors already expect to see.
* Keep your widget, SEO templates, sales text, and screenshots in the same units.
