Visible does not always mean available

The vehicle catalog separates an item’s own setting from whether it can appear in your widgets. For example, hiding Cars & LCV prevents its manufacturers, models, generations, and engines from appearing. Those child records can still be set to Visible; their own settings have not changed. Showing the parent again does not switch on children you have individually hidden. A shared record that Remapdb has made inactive also cannot be made available by changing your visibility setting. Use the badge explanations and breadcrumbs to check the hierarchy. Only items with their own Hidden setting are muted in the breadcrumbs.
Your widget’s vehicle type settings still apply. A record being available in Customizations does not override a category disabled in a particular widget.

Why duplicates can appear

Remapdb continually updates the shared database. If you add a record and a later update adds the same item, both may exist in your catalog. New additions that match an existing record are blocked. Existing duplicates, including those introduced by shared updates, remain available for you to review.

Review a duplicate

  1. Follow the duplicate indicator to the relevant section. You can use the Has duplicates filter.
  2. Open the duplicate badge to review the matching records. A notice on a parent may point to matches further down the hierarchy.
  3. Compare the records and decide which you want to show.
  4. Hide a record you do not want visitors to see, or delete your own addition if it is no longer needed.
Hiding a record does not remove the duplicate relationship, so the notice may remain. Shared records cannot be deleted, and deleting your own record may require handling its related records or links first. If you are unsure which record to keep, contact support before deleting it.
